PILLING ST JOHN’S CE PRIMARY SCHOOL AND NURSERY NEWSLETTER
15th February 2019
Happy half term. We hope you have a lovely break and we will see everyone back at school and refreshed on Monday 25th February.
Blackpool Tower Ballroom
What an amazing experience our dancers had this week. They performed at the famous Tower Ballroom in front of a very impressed audience. The children were beautifully behaved and performed excellently. Their rehearsals clearly paid off! A massive thank you to all the staff who put so much effort into this event and especially to Francesca from Rainbow Dance Studios for coming in to choreograph the dance for us.
Congratulations to the football team who represented the school on Tuesday. They made it through to the final of the shield competition and the children played extremely well. They were a credit to the school.
The Greatest Me Drama Workshop
The children have had a fabulous day today during their drama workshops. We have loved seeing them all dressed as ‘The Greatest Me’. Thank you very much to the PFTA for funding this experience.
We are very sad to see Mr Green go. He has been completing his apprenticeship over the past year and has been a real asset to the school. Mr Green has supported the children’s development in PE and has coached many of our teams to make sure they have been competition ready. We thank him and wish him the very best of luck in everything he does. I’m sure we will see him again when the football season starts.
We are celebrating everything that is great about Pilling St John’s and thinking about our vision and hopes for our young people. You are invited into school for tea, biscuits and discussions on the 12th March from 2:30pm. During this time, we would love to hear your thoughts and ideas about the vision, values and ethos we create in school.
We have lots of plans underway to develop our outdoor learning environment and Forest Schools area. This is a project we hope to involve everyone in, we will be sharing more details soon. There will be a fundraising event on Saturday 18th May, this will be fun for all the family. Once arrangements have confirmed we will let you know the details.
