Outdoor classroom for Forest Schools
Our outdoor classroom has now been built and is a very exciting addition to our Forest School area. This is a project that will bring amazing opportunities for outdoor learning across all year groups. Funds raised at our ceilidh event in May will go towards providing our children with a wide selection of equipment and opportunities. The introduction of Forest Schools is something we are all really excited about and we can’t wait to share the photographs with you as this project continues to develop and grow.
Ceilidh – 18th May
This is an event not to be missed! Come and join us for an evening of fun and dancing for the whole family to enjoy. We are having a fund-raising event to support our Forest School project on Saturday 18th May at The Elletsons Arms. ‘Hot Punch Ceilidh Band’ will be providing the entertainment for the event and supper will be included. Tickets are on sale now from the school office with a special offer family ticket available until Friday 5th April.
Our school choir went to Rossall school on Thursday to take part in ‘The Big Sing’. The children were beautifully behaved and showed what talented children we have at Pilling St John’s. They sang in front of over 500 people and performed with confidence. We were extremely proud of them. A special thank you to Mr Phillpotts, Ms Phoenix-Hart and Mrs Carter.
Clear Plastic 2 litre Bottles
We are collecting empty, clear plastic 2 litre bottles to build an eco green house. Please send clean bottles into school – we will need lots!
Our dodgeball team competed against 9 schools at Millfield on Wednesday. In each of their matches they played with perfect sportsmanship while keeping their competitive edge. They put in a lot of practise and did themselves proud during the competition.
Children in Cedar class will begin their swimming lessons after Easter. These lessons will be on a Wednesday morning and will begin on Wednesday 24th April. Please ensure your child has their swimming kit in school for these sessions.
