Comenius Project

We have been working with schools in Germany, Slovenia, Italy and Austria over the last two years  - click on the link on the left to find out more about this exciting project. This term sees the last visit, this time to Germany where staff will be involved in the final activities and report writing! Mrs Tate, the Head Teacher, Mrs Clements, our Year 6 teacher, Mrs Bell, our year 2 teacher will share our pupils work. Our school bursar, Mrs Gough, will also be on the trip - she has been involved in organising the finances and the trips. They will be out of school  from 29th June to 3rd July. There's a lot of work to be done before the end of the project so we wish them all the best.

Welcome to Pilling St John's Church of England School Website! We hope to use this website to showcase the wonderful work our children produce and to also provide information for our Parents and Carers. We pride ourselves on being a family school at the heart of our village community, where every child matters. As a church School we have strong links with our local church - St John's - and the Blackburn diocese and know that our strong Christian ethos and values enhance all we provide for our families. Each term we celebrate different Christian values which this year will include thankfulness, perseverance, respect, love and forgiveness. We are fully committed to ensuring our children become valuable and fully rounded members of society who treat others with respect and tolerance regardless of background. We promote the British Values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance for those of different faiths and beliefs.

Our results are very good in the core subjects, but we also work hard to ensure that our children have a well rounded and expansive school experience. All children, from Reception to Year 6 learn an instrument and are members of a whole school choir. Our Band and Choirs regularly take part in local events. Our sporting activities are many - both in and out of school. We participate in many tournaments and have won multiple cups and certificates to mark these successes!

People comment on the lovely atmosphere they feel when they come into school. Scroll down and see some of the comments from our recent Parent Questionnaire! Come and have a look around - you can e-mail us using the contacts link in the left hand column  or ring the Bursar on 01253790282 to make an appointment.
