Football fun at Poolfoot
Sat 02 Nov 2024Yesterday a team of year 5 and 6 footballers travelled to Poolfoot for the Wyre Schools football tournament. With over 260 children in attendance we were facing some really big schools and even though results may not have gone our way, it was great to see the children enjoying themselves, encouraging each other and never letting their heads drop all afternoon. What great examples of our school values of love, respect, responsibility and perseverance they were for the rest of the school.
As always a massive thank you to our parent transporters and in particular Mrs Goth for her coaching expertise for which I couldn't have managed without.
Sorry for no pictures especially in our new kit as I forgot the iPad. Must do better next time Miss Bell

Gala Gladiators!
Thu 04 Jul 2024On Wednesday 15 fantastic footballers went to represent school in the Knott End and Preesall Gala football tournament. For once the weather was kind of not a bit blustery and we had fabulous support from the parents and wider school community. The children were all fantastic representatives for our school and played some really great games of football with the A-Team making it through to the finals next weekend.
A huge well done to everyone who played in both teams and a thank you to Jake and Mr Goth who took charge on the night and Mr Baynham who has spent all year training the teams. Roll on Saturday!!!

Amazing Athletes
Fri 14 Jun 2024On Tuesday we sent a 20 strong team of athletes to the quad-kids athletics tournament at Stanley Park (Blackpool). The children each had to complete a distance run, a sprint, a team relay, a throw and a long jump.
With a field of around 400 children we produced some really strong results, even notching up a few wins in our groups!
As always the children's behaviour was impeccable and I am really grateful to the parents and Miss Haslam who gave up their afternoon to help with transport and support us at the event.

'Art at the Heart'
Sun 07 Apr 2024Yesterday we held an amazing environmental 'Art at the Heart' exhibition at the village hall. We had over 100 things to view and do, with exhibits coming from across Pilling, Over Wyre, England and beyond!!!The exhibition was well supported by our local community with around 200 people coming to see all the wonderful artwork. Congratulations to those who won certificates and medals. Especially the big three winners who all came from our school: Miss Kellett, Maiyah and Mya. It was so lovely to see all the creative talent our community has on show, and the comments from those who attended were great to hear.
These things couldn't happen without community support and I am personally so grateful to all those who came to help us on the day from setting up/cleaning up to singing, serving in the cafe, judging and giving talks. You were all wonderful.
A special mention to all those children from the eco-team who came down to help run the exhibition, set up clean up and work as guides all day. You were, as always, a delight. We as a school are very proud of how you represent us in the wider community.
Just a couple of pictures here, I will try and get some more on the 'Art at the Heart' page once we begin writing up the project.
