Week commencing 27.2.23
We have had such a busy week this week! On Wednesday we had forest schools with Miss Bell where we made and ate pancakes. Miss Bentley also came out to join us and we showed her how to play Ninja hide and seek.
Some of us stayed for STEM club on Wednesday (led by Mrs Astbury) where we were challenged to make different 3D shapes using spaghetti and marshmallows. Pyramids were relatively easy to make but a cube was much more challenging.
On Thursday we were so pleased to wear our pyjamas to school for the day! What a way to celebrate World Book Day. After listening to Mrs Turner's assembly about World Book Day, we hunted around the classroom for different story characters, linking them to the story they came from. We shared our favourite books with each other and had some quiet time curled up reading our books. In the afternoon, we completed a scavenger hunt trying to find different items within books in the classroom and thought about who the 'bad' and 'good' characters are in a range of stories.
Friday mornings are our practical Maths day and we get to show what we have learnt during the week through a range of Maths activities. This week we have been consolidating our knowledge of place value to 50, counting in 2s, 5s and 10s and using this for our times tables. We also love playing Shut the Box which is a great game to play to develop number bonds up to 10.
